Silica gel desiccant is the best method for flower drying. Silica gel will keep the color and the beauty of your flower arrangements by absorbing all the moisture out if the flowers without crushing them. Flowers dried with silica gel are able to be used as decorations for special occasions or keepsakes.

Delicate flowers such as hydrangea, roses, carnations and asters can be dried easily. Put a layer on the bottom of an air tight container and gently arrange the flowers. Carefully sprinkle the silica gel around the flowers until they are covered, taking care to fill all the crevasses without crushing the flowers. Seal your container tightly and in a couple of days your flowers will be dried.  Silica Gel desiccant works fairly quickly and can easily be reused simply by baking out the moisture in a 200 degree oven.
